Our Trainer
"We really respect and like him because of his horse savvy, and, in particular, he is a true family guy
who understands the dynamics of the whole horse/people package. Some trainers seem to work well with the horses and have no people understanding, and others are good with people and not so good with the horses. With Brian you don't have a professional trainer with an agenda...you have a family guy who prioritizes his family life to incorporate his love for horses and great affection for the Moon offspring. That works for us on all levels."

Brian Seifert is a neighbor and close friend of Catherine & Rick. He watched Moon grow up and has successfully started several of his babies under saddle. Brian is a regular working man who has the interest, passion and talent to start horses. Brian coined a phrase "The Moon Mind", which he says often when working with various young horses sired by Raleighs Full Moon. He says the level of maturity, intelligence and willingness that he sees repeatedly in Moon offspring have exceeded his expectations to the point of preferring to work with Moon's babies.
Brian trains slowly and consistently, always ending on a good note, approximately 4 times a week. He takes his time and is very patient. He never hits a horse nor does he discipline with anger. He is a strict follower of the Clinton Anderson technique. His goal is to create a soft, kind, reliable and safe horse who responds to the respect and light touch of its owner. Brian encourages lessons with you and your horse, both in the saddle and on the ground. If you have a Moon baby who needs some handling, consider Brian when choosing a trainer.
